Club Field Trips - 2024

Monthly field trips occur on the first Friday of the month and Sunday field trips occur every other month, times as indicated. All participants are asked to sign the attendance book. Field trips will proceed irrespective of the weather. Leaders will always turn up except for venues at risk during high fire danger warnings. Wear sturdy shoes and bring along the following - Binoculars, Hat, Sunscreen, Insect repellent, Water, Morning tea and lunch plus a chair. A field guide is optional. Please note the club is unable to accept persons under 18 years of age at field trips unless accompanied by an adult.

    Friday 5th. CANCELLED DUE TO RAIN Swans Crossing. Meet 08:00am in the car park at the Kew Information Centre (The Big Axe) on Nancy Bird Walton Drive, Kew.(Map Link) Woodland birds. Gradient: Some inclines. Leader: Clive Meadows.

    Sunday 21st. North Shore/Pelican Point & surrounds. Meet 08:00am in Dolphin Court (Left off ferry and first right).(Map Link) NB - Car pooling highly recommended as round trip ferry fare now $16. Woodland & Seabirds. Gradient: Easy. Leader: Lindy Frost.

    Friday 3rd. Bonny Hills wetland and STP. Meet 08:00 at Bonny Hills Surf Club car park area.(Map Link) Wetland & Woodland birds. Gradient: Easy. Leaders: Jenny Lester & Les Mitchell

    Sunday 19th. Links Track & surrounds. Meet 08:00 in layby on Ocean Drive, just south of Pozieres Retirement Village.(Map Link).Woodland birds. Gradient: Easy. Leaders: Terry & Elaine McCarthy.

    Friday 7th. Lake Cathie - Village and Lakeside Tracks. Meet 08:30 at Lake Cathie Foreshore Reserve carpark.(Map Link). Woodland & Shorebirds. Gradient: Level. Leaders Terry & Elaine McCarthy.

    Sunday 16th. Dunbogan area. Meet 08:30 at the Reid St, Apex Park car park just before the bridge.(Map Link) Woodland & Waterbirds. Gradient: Fairly easy. Leaders: Sue Proust & Peter West.
